What's known as a "black wine" due to the deep inky colour that is in the bottle, this dark fruit driven rounded and fully natural wine is one of the oldest styles on the planet.

The pulp of the Saperavi grape is pigmented. This is a bit of a rarity in the wine world (another example being Alicante Bouschet, for instance), but lends itself to deep wines that don't typically need as much extraction to be rich in colour.

Fermented and aged in clay pots called qvevri gives a naturally complex and terroir driven character to this wine. Nutty and savoury, round and mouth-filling, this is one not to be missed.
